Forest School

At our school, all children participate in nature learning activities.  The lower grades (PreK-K) classes spend extended class times each week in nature and the upper grades room does the same quartelry.  Our outdoor program allows children to develop spiritually, socially, physically and emotionally in an environment that promotes a natural love of learning.

When children spend this time in the forest, they learn essential life skills through exploratory play/learning. Their discoveries are then woven into the curriculum through further indoor/outdoor activities. Studies have shown that this approach prepares children for primary grades just as well as traditional classrooms. They also experience additional benefits of being more socially, physically and emotionally prepared.
